Blaine Hoien, REALTOR® Emeritus  

Blaine started the Blaine Hoien agency in 1952 after realizing that a desk job in the banking industry was not for him. Blaine has seen many changes in the lakes area since moving here after World War II, and has been one of the driving forces of positive change in the Iowa Great Lakes area. Blaine was designated as REALTOR® Emeritus in January 2008 by the Iowa Association of REALTORS® for his 55-plus years of commitment to the real estate industry. Blaine is retired and resides at Keelson Harbour in Spirit Lake.

Marilyn Strickland, Broker Associate

Marilyn Strickland is also a lifelong resident of the Iowa Great Lakes having graduated from Arnolds Park along with a dual degree from Westmar College. With over a quarter of a century in the real estate business (all with Hoien Realty), Marilyn is quick to expound on the many reasons why living in the Iowa Great Lakes is so great. Jim McDonald

Sherry was born and raised in Charleston, SC area.  After graduation, she moved to Orlando, FL  for 37 years where she had a career working in Customer Relations/Support for executives in  entertainment and banking industries for 35 of those years. Sherry has family roots in the Midwest, mostly in Iowa and Nebraska.  She spent every summer in Nebraska and lived there for short periods of time.  It was always a dream and goal to eventually live in either Iowa or Nebraska.  After visiting here the past 4 summers, she fell in love with the people, the area and life's simplest pleasure of a slower pace.  Her hobbies include all water sports and snow skiing.  Her passion has always been sailing.  Sherry is eager to work and support the people in the Iowa Great Lakes Community in her new career.  Dedication is and always has been a priority to her.  Email Sherry at sherry@hoien.com.

Karri Brumley, Closing Coordinator/Office Manager

Karri Brumley joined Hoien Realty in September of 2011 and takes care of closing coordination and management of the office on a day to day basis.  Kari's attention to detail is unsurpassed and has been an excellent addition to the Hoien Realty Family.  She lives in Spirit Lake with her children Hannah and Cole.  She enjoys spending time with her family, boating, attending her children's activities and scrapbooking.  You can reach Karri at karri@hoien.com.
